So i'm looking for a temp. solution to allow a user on his/her workstation to search for files on the server just as if they were looking for a specific word doc on their workstation drive. It'd be something until we have a more user-friendly setup, like a web server/search engine combo.

Spotlight, for whatever reason will only look to the workstation for files - do I need to configure Spotlight to look at the server too? Could it be the server settings? I'd be asking the tech guy this, but this isn't a priority for us, so he's gonna get back to me with more details Monday - not a priority, but it would save the case and admin people time overall, if they could peruse the server just like they can their local drives with Spotlight.

So that's about it - trying to be proactive and get something in place before the weekend.

Thanks in advance.
