Hello.

Sometime in the late nineties to early 21st century I played a old macintosh game on an OS 8/OS 9 machine. There was also another macintosh game from around the same time that I was looking for a while back, that game turned out to be Blobbo (a puzzle game). I decided to ask some people first hand if they new something about the other game, as I have yet to find it.

Alright, here's what I remember:
The game was in top down perspective, like you were looking down on the game world, and I think it had grey walls, kinda like Blobbo did. It was some kind of adventure game, and I remember their were some characters.

The player (who you played as) was a guy (he might have been a father, can't remember) and there was also a boy (I'm thinking his son). At one point the player tells the boy to stay back, and then later in the game you find that the boy had gone ahead. He is then encountered soon after, and gets caught by some sort of green monster/goblin character. The goblin then takes him down to the lower level through some stairs, where I couldn't reach him yet.

Its vague but I'm sure the game had a story to it.

If you need any information or have any questions, please ask!
I was able to rediscover Blobbo, but I haven't been able to find this game. I'm kinda desperate.

Again, I'm open to hear any ideas.

Thanks,
Shawn

I have checked http://macintoshgarden.org/ before, however I've been unsuccessful in finding the game I remember.

Also I'm not sure if its all that important, but the game was probably shareware.

YES! That is indeed the game. I watched the video clip, and nostalgia has over whelmed me. Thank you very much for your help in finding it. It'll be nice to finally relive the experience of playing Blobbo and DROD together. :D

Thanks again,
Shawn

You are thinking of The Secret Island of Dr. Quandary. Loved that game. I got it working on my Mac through DOSBox.
