I've been searching for over two years for the 512MB revision of the Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX, but this GPU remains strangely elusive - I can find only contemporary reviews of the card, and the occasional listing on sites that were last updated in the first decade of the millennium.

I'm usually quite capable when it comes to Google-fu, but I seem to have met my match in this. I'm willing to pay a fair price or trade for one of these, as I intend to throw it into my PowerMac G5 Quad (which currently has a 4500 Quadro in it), but I could use the assistance of the community at large to track one down.

Has anyone seen one? Does anybody actually own one?

Gigi burdo has one lol but seriously i can't find one too and i have been looking for like 4 years

The worst part is, I actually had one pass through my hands a year ago. I didn't realize how valuable and rare they were, and I traded it, and the Quad G5 it was in, for a NeXTDimension video card. Still a win on my part, but I've since sold my NeXTCube and I want that card back.

The 7900GTX comes with 512MB of Vram and I confirmed years ago that PPC Mac OS X has drivers for this card. IT's just a matter of porting the FCode ROM for the G70 based 7800 to the die shrink G71 core( 90nm).

I started work on this years ago but never got any collaboration, if people are interested in helping I may take it up again.

I looked into those cards as well, but was frustrated by the oddity that this member of the 7-series didn't have a PPC BIOS available. I don't have the tech skills to help but I think you'd be doing God's work if you managed that trick.
