secd process gobbling cpu

    Since I installed Sierra on my 2015 iMac last night, the secd process has been running and gobbling up a lot of cpu.

    What is this thing? Can I stop it.

    I believe that is the process that syncs iCloud Keychain. Can you try turning that off then wait a moment, then back on again.

    I did a "force quit" via Activity Monitor. Came back on after about 5 seconds.
    This is a big issue. Wonder if Apple has anything to say about it.

    That process will auto restart every time you quit it, and it is normal for it to always be running. Did you try what I suggested?
