Hey,

We're starting an online school journal on our school and instead of me doing everything on my iMac, I want to make the school buy a mac, and teach the pupils there how to work with it (because next year I'll be gone). I would like to have colour and motion working on it.

I think I'm allowed to spend a max of 700 euro. Let's say that's around 850 dollars (I know the value is much more worth, but the mac's are here a lot more expensive too. And I can't just import one from america, with VAT it will cost me the same or even more).

I could buy a mac mini for 600 euro's, however that has only 2.0 Ghz and 1 Gb of ram. A White iMac with the same specs is cheaper, and includes a screen. I then have extra money to buy more RAM.

p.s. Ofcourse it must be an investment in the future, so it would be nice if it could handle HDV. (We got a nice deal on the HV20)

edit: I keep thinking, and what I could do is to spread the costs over 4 years and buy a 24" 2.66 GHZ 4GB RAM 640GB Geforce 9400M iMac.
It will cost 1500 euro's in total (inclusive with applecare and bought with student discount, cause a teacher can buy it with that discount) and we'll only have to pay 375 euro each year. But I need to be sure it will make 4 years, without it will be slow editing HD over 4 years.

Just tell me what would be best (even if it's another solution like a mac pro G5, as long as it's with fcs)
