Looking to get some ideas on monitors to be used as a second screen alongside my iMac for work. Have an older 24" Apple Cinema Display and it just didn't cut it. 2560x1440 resolution preferable and looking in the $200-$400 range. Have done some preliminary searches so far, but wanted to see/hear from current iMac users what they're using. Thanks!

If you want it to look halfway decent you need to make sure it's a 4K or 5K display. A LowDPI display next to the iMac's HiDPI display will look like hot garbage.

I find Dell monitors to be always excellent. I've never been disappointed with a Dell Ultrasharp. Try to find this one : https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/ult...20q/apd/210-avjv/monitors-monitor-accessories

If price is too high : https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/ult...20d/apd/210-avkg/monitors-monitor-accessories

Totally true. I'm even scared of how a 2K monitor would look next to the Retina DPI...

Does anyone know how the scaling is using a 27in 4k as s second monitor with the iMac? is there any lag? The native resolution is too small. Would the clarity be the same when scaling that 4k down to 2k compared to a 27in 2k at native?

I use a mix of two U2718Q's or UP2715Q's each on all my iMacs ('19) / iMac Pros at the moment attached via C->DP adapters. Scaling's not really an issue.
