Hi all,

I've had a search and can't find something with answers my question:

Currently I am using Time Machine with an external HDD, this backups up the system at least once a day.
What I would like to do is have a secondary backup, done weekly to another external HDD which I can keep off site.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible to do with Time Machine, or whether I need to look at some other software.

Thanks.

I don0t think it is possible with Time Machine. But you can use the free Carbon Copy Cloner or Superduper to create a clone to an external hd.

You can start the cloning manually or create a schedule and also update the previous clone (free in Carbon copy cloner, you have to pay for Supeduper) without having to transfer all the data that wasn't changed.

With those utilities you can create a bootable backup of the internal hard drive.

I agree with the above. I'm currently only using Time machine, but soon I'm going to get another drive to do do clone backups.
