Secure delete trash 50GB of data. How long do you think will take?

The new imac has been workong on it for 4 hours now. Windows at least tried to estimate this time! The mac just says deleting. Am I looking at a couple more hours here or a couple more days? Or is it stuck in motion? I know I can force close finder. But I'm trying to be patient at let it do it's work. Patients is hard for me without a remaining time noticification.

Ok I got my answer. It finally finished. It took about exactly 5 hours to erase 50G of data securely. So figure an hour per 10G.
