My father owns a small business that was recently broken into. The rear entrance's lock was broken and a thief (or thieves) looked through the basement and left. We're still trying to determine if anything was stolen, but this event got me thinking about security apps.

My dad's business has 802.11n wifi and a fast internet connection. He has an iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. I was wondering if there are any good hardware/app combos where my dad can remotely access video cameras via his Apple hardware (Macs and iOS devices alike). The more affordable the solution is, the more cameras he'll be able to get.

If anyone has any thoughts on the matter, please share—thanks!

SecuritySpy and Evocam are two good Mac apps. Sharx IP cameras seem to work well with OS X...and you can view their output on the iPhone using mobile Safari.
