Hi all
Looking to create a security system via HomeKit. It appears that abode, is the most recommended system to buy, but with having to order from the U.S. to Canada it can be a royal pain, especially if something doesn’t work properly. I’ve also read you can build your own system with individual sensors and automation, without a dedicated system like the abode.
Can anyone share any info to help me with this.
Thanks for your assistance

Do you require it to be professionally monitored or will a self monitoring system suffice?

What type of system are you trying to setup? Does it need to be integrated with HomeKit, or just accessible via you cell phone. I personally use the ring system with video doorbell and floodlights with cameras (also siren). There are many smart lock systems, motion detectors, etc.

I recommend Aqara then. It’s HomeKit ready. You need the hub which is also the actual alarm siren and light. Then each of the sensors that connect to the hub is relatively inexpensive when compared to others on the market.

I suggest you tvdit homekit for security.I personally use the ring system with video doorbell with cameras.
