I wonder if this addresses the "vulnerabilities" in OS X that lead to the recent vulnerabilities, or, for that matter, if it addresses the "known" issues in OS X which have allowed the various sites hosted on minis to be "hacked" (yes, I know they were left open to attack etc etc etc ad infinitum)

Nice to see Apple "keeping up" anyway ;)

Uber

EDIT: Downloading now...hope all goes well. I'm still surprised all the software updates to OS X are architecture dependent and not shipped as universal updates. I suppose it saves bandwidth etc.

What's an arbitrary code execution and how would I know if one has been executed already on my iBook? Myspace.com has been acting funny so I fear that site may have caused this bc Apple.com says malicious sites can cause an arbitrary code execution.

Code that executes arbitrarily - code that runs without asking basically...

And it's unlikely that there's malicious code on myspace... just bad code

Is that the shortest gap between Security Updates?

Not sure..this one was quick - and I had a runaway rsync function this morning that looks like it is addressed in this, too.

Maybe after a dozen of these my machine will work. :p :D

Thanks for the heads-up. I wouldn't have had any idea otherwise!

I have been unable to send mail through mail, I get an error that comes back stating the server rejected my email and it would be saved in the outbox. Has anyone else had this happen? It worked fine with my pb but now my mbp is having this issue.

nuts about security

Looks like the recent security "scares" or at least the publicity from them has sent Apple into top gear on the security updates!

Notably it's all web related stuff - javascript vunerabilities, mail (via attachments), safari, download validation, apache and rsync...

Wow - I haven't even installed the first Security update yet  Mainly because I'm still running OSX 10.4.4 and at the moment can't afford to risk losing my computer due to a bad upgrade, since I'm in the middle of coursework at uni and don't have a backup drive or installer DVD with me. Will get done next week though - last week of term :D

what the hell.....i installed it, and now my menu bar is all messed up.....yet all my settings are still the same in prefs.....

How can a security update possibly have a "negative" vote?

my only guess would be people wanting to retain their uptime? never understood that 'uptime' thing, i really don't see the point. oh well, as long as apple don't judge their successes on these forums' ratings :p

so can anyone help me out? tried repair permissions, and everything is the same as before in syst prefs.....dont see why spotlight airport BT date/time wont display in the menu bar, but adium and tigerlaunch do

Those symptoms are consistent with frontrowonanunsupportedmacitis. A frontrowectomy would cure that condition, if it's been installed.
