After installing security update 2008-002, I am no longer able to use the network printer at work. Should I just wait till Apple fixes it, or is there some clever work-around?

strange. try to reset printing (beware it will delete all the added printers) in System preferences, by right clicking on of the printers and reseting it. then add again with the IP address of your network printer. hopefully that may work
Well, I've gone through several fora, and it seems to be a recognized issue by many (but of course not Apple - until the update).
