I have a 30gb iPod which I would like to be able to let windows see files in the data section. I do not want to move music from iTunes to the iPod, just data files as if it was a removable disk. This works fine with my Macbook but the message I am getting from Windows is that it is not formatted correctly.
Thanks in advance

What format is your iPod's disk in? If you don't know off hand, use Disk Utility on your Mac, while it's plugged in.

There should be no reason it doesn't work on your PC, as long as it's formatted as FAT32.

Ah, its not FAT32. How would I go about in formatting it to FAT32?

Plug it into the PC and use Apple's ipod updater to restore it. This will make it a win pod usuable on the mac aswell. I'm not sure if you need to earse it on the mac first though, probably not.

You need tp connect your iPod to your PC and use the iPod Updater to restore it. You will lose your music on the iPod. If your music is in iTunes on your Mac it will put the music back on when you connect it to your Mac.
