Seeing several posts on SMC reset but confused how to check if it works

Hi guys,

I've tried following the Apple website's instructions to reset but I can't quite tell if anything has changed. My battery life at 100% still says 6-7 hours as an estimation. Also, is there a way to plot the SOC curve of the battery over a cycle? I can't find any, other than in the activity monitor which doesn't seem detailed enough.
