How on earth did you read "ARM" into a story about a prematurely released screenshot showing a pro app?

Because that feature being shown is a Live Loops Session. LLS's are already available for GarageBand on iOS.

If this feature is present, it may be an ARM-compatbile version of Logic. It's not as much of a stretch as you think.

Features are in GarageBand for iOS because Apple thinks they're useful there, not because of something inherent about the ARM architecture that makes that easier. If Apple wants to port the feature to x86, they will, and if Apple wants to port Logic to ARM, they will.

I can't help but feel like they're neglecting some of the key areas that in my opinion need improvement.
Well said. There are issues about which I've been submitting feedback for years. One example: the end marker, which never has functioned properly. It jumps around wherever it wants to with no way to lock it in place. What good is it? Also, the method for accessing Audio FX is like a bad joke -- a tiny strip of dark grey against a grey background. I know Apple can do better than that.

That looks like a DJ Interface [an example of a specific workflow interface] view in an upcoming LPX. What I'm hoping is that they have multiple workflow UIs for specific tasks while the overall Track Interface timeline to bring them all together is the final area in which one bounces their work.

If one looks to the upper right corner where we have our Loops instead of just one tab icon active they all are, thus the split multi-view in one view presentation for a Live performance.

So much LPX could extend, but it really needs continued integration with 3rd parties Audio Interfaces to leverage hardware DSPs, AU 3.0 released, Drumming improvements, better integration with NKS, etc.

This makes sense I guess and it's going a bit more in an Ableton direction, because Logic's weaknesses were always rapidly improvising ideas, as well as live-performance, whereas that's where Ableton shines. This looks like a mixture between Ableton's session view and something like Novation's Launchpad app.

I'm a loyal Logic user, but this isn't the only area where Ableton is really strong, and I hope Apple gives us things like a really modern sampler instrument eventually, and something to rival Ableton's drum rack.

Curious... what is "seemingly unreleased"? It has either been released or it hasn't been.

It seems it's an upcoming version.

It could also be that the feature already exists and people haven't found it.

It could also be that the feature was canceled and won't ship at all.

Loops in Logic would make it more in line with Ableton Live and Bitwig, looks amazing, can't wait for the feature!

Well since the story updated to Apple replacing the image with a released version I’m gonna guess live loops are coming in Logic Pro .

Makes me think about porting IOS apps to MacOS. A simple GarageBand plug in for Logic .

Cool can’t wait.

I'm waiting for the leaked image of the new ARM Pad Book Pro with 64 processors running at 10Ghz.

ill be honest I use abelton and reason now with the down time I have took too trying out logic with the free. 90 day trial and also testing Final Cut Pro straight out of the door logic genuinely offers a lot more than I knew about and I do mean a heck of a lot of stuff that I didn't know it had. I also find it a bit confusing to get around various bits of the software and that's not because I am been a abelton fan boy or anything it just seems all too confined perhaps it is just me I don't know as I said I'm taking the time to learn also the value for money is actually a lot better than abelton. Though I will be honest I have never got on with garage band and that is also one of the issues I do defiantly have with logic way too similar looking and I know logic is a lot older than garage band. Time will tell I guess

Hey did, we copy one another's avatar styles :)

P.S. -- the link in your signature is broken

just by luck I would say they look similar :)

Welcome clip view. Nice work Emagic team. That gives us less reason to use Live.

It’s hard to imagine a full version of Logic Pro X running on iPad Pro with only 6 gigs of RAM. There is just no room for anything but rudimentary AU plug-ins, sample libraries, buffering. I don’t know how they could pull it off. Maybe they could squeeze in another stepping stone version to bridge the gap between iPadOS GarageBand and MacOS Logic Pro X. I would enjoy a Logic Lite on iPadOS which used the same Project window, editors, and mixer design. That would be a step up.

Logic Pro X on the iPad please!
So many newer audio interfaces are switching to thunderbolt and sadly most audio companies just don’t have the resources to build robust support for iPad apps. They Are barely are able to support macOS 6 months after the latest update comes out. Then you have the whole plugin ecosystem (which is frankly dismal on iOS even though we’ve had Audio Unit plugin for 2 years now) and software instrument libraries (which many piggyback off Kontact). Frankly there’s just way too much missing that even if we did get Logic on iPad what’s the point?
