Exactly. It never happens unless a phone call is involved. I could even be doing nothing, with my phone in my pocket. Whenever I'm off wifi and a call comes through, I am greeted with this screen when I pull my phone out of my pocket to accept/decline.
That's a really strange one.

Maybe try getting calls with Cellular turned off then try with WiFi turned off. Just curious if they work that way. Maybe try with wifi calling off too.

I've had the exact same problem since updating to IOS 10. I was using a iPhone 6 originally, and had hoped the problem would go away once I upgraded to the 6s. It did not. Wifi calling is off, "ask to join"is off, and I have tried resetting network settings as well.

Here is a screenshot of what I am experiencing. Seemingly, it only happens if a call comes through while data is also being used. It pops up and I have to dismiss it before I can access the call screen. Once I end the call to go back to what I was doing, I am often prompted again and have to dismiss.

I suspect it has something to do with data (LTE) being used while the call is in progress.. I thought Verizon supported data while on a call at this point..

That is so weird.
And you did restore using itunes and setup as new phone?

Well the problem has existed since I updated to iOS 10. At which point I had an iPhone 6... Then I upgraded to the 6s. So I certainly set THAT up as a new phone! ;) ..Got the phone set-up and up too date, only to find the problem still exists. I've since tried adjusting all the above mentioned settings, and resetting network settings completely...

I reset my network settings and reset the phone...I'll let you guys know if that helps.
Any change?

Did you put your iPhone 6 backup onto the 6s when you were setting it up? Perhaps trying to reset all settings might be worth a try?

I would plug it to iTunes and hit restore.
Then select setup as new phone.
That's what Apple will have you do if you bring it in.
Updating is not a restore and sounds like you used a backup file from your old device.
It's a software bug.
If you want to resolve it follow what I said above.

Nope. Still doing it...

Nope. Did that twice and it still does it.

Dang! Same here...
Is Bluetooth involved in any of these situations? I'm wondering because I came across another thread about some WiFi issues where someone mentioned the following (which sort of sounds similar/related, although it might not be):
It's actually a Bluetooth problem. I've tested it with two different carriers and three different routers on my home network as well as multiple other networks. If you're on a Bluetooth phone call, you can't auto-connect to a known WiFi network when you arrive within range of the network; you have to manually connect. Take Bluetooth out of the equation with your phone call, and it connects fine.

I believe so:

I will try to reset the network settings later and see what happens...

Lol. I didn't realize Verizon was offering that...
Or maybe it has something to do with that "Calls on Other Devices" setting (and/or something similar like continuity/handoff)?

Nah, I do not currently use any bluetooth devices.
As to whether I have bluetooth enabled when the problem occurs... I will turn it off now and report back!

Also might be worth checking on and perhaps playing with the "Calls on Other Devices" and/or other similar continuity/handoff type of settings, in case it all might be related to something of that sort.

I have a GENIUS Appointment on Wednesday to get it looked at. Also ever since the update, My Photostream doesn't work on my laptop or iPhone (both updated) but the pictures that should go to My Photostream, will go to my iPads photostream which is NOT updated...not sure the two correlates but it's weird.

I had my Genius appointment yesterday and they've never seen nor heard of this issue until I showed it to them. They weren't sure what to do with the phone and said that it is most likely a bug that is now infected in my backup files as well...so the only way to get rid of it is to reset my phone to new and start over, live with it, or see if an update down the road gets rid of it...

Anything in regards to trying some things that were brought up at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/selecting-wireless-network-alert.2010232/page-2#post-23940821 ?

So basicly you ended up doing what I told you above to do over 2 weeks ago on November 2nd that you didn't do.

Something is not right then.
I'd do a restore and setup as new.
Sounds like a software bug.

I'm running an iPhone 6s on Verizon and when I get phone calls, I get a "Select A Wireless Network" alert that comes up if I am near wifi. Why is this happening and how can I get it to stop? Has this happened to anyone else?

I think I may have solved this.. Since I have grown to suspect that wifi-calling was the culprit. I decided to give calling Verizon a call to see if they can completely disable it. And it turns out that back when wifi calling was still new, Verizon needed to add it onto your account. So I had them remove the "add-on" on their end, and it has not happened since!
Verizon also told me that I should be able to use wifi calling by toggling it on in settings, but I have not tried that yet. I hardly use it so I will likely never turn it back on so I never have to see that prompt again!!

I was wrong. It is still happening... Verizon thinks it is due to HD Voice not working properly. When LTE Voice
& Data is enabled, Verizon iPhones 6 and above should be able to use voice & data simultaneously. But for some reason it is not working for me, and the phone needs to connect to wifi to keep the data (maps, music, etc) going when on a call.

Good info. Thanks. Sounds like a bug on their part?

Unfortunately, like I said, I did that twice before you suggested it. I returned it to factory settings did the restore with an iTunes back up and went so far as to restore and set the phone up totally new and restore everything by hand. Still didn't work. Wasn't the answer.
