Well, I stayed up till 2am CST to order the iPhone 5. I've had every iteration of the iPhone & iPad on release day (like many of us).

This year with the changes in subsidies it was a tough pill to swallow. I have 3 lines and my son's line is eligible in November (he gets hand-me-down iPhones). I decided to wait.

So, i got to check out and dumped the order. Yes, it was tough... but glad I had the self control to save $250.

Anyone else get as far as I did and abandon?

I signed up with my girlfriend to get a GS3, and hated it so I got a 4S on the 23rd of Aug. Since the original date was July 7th they wouldn't let me swap out for a 5. So I will have to wait till I have some more cash.

My plan is to give it a month or two and then think about picking up the 5. I mean, my 4S is perfect, so why do I need the newer one, right?

But something tells me that as I start reading all the wonderful posts about how fantastic the 5 is (once people actually get it in their hands), I'll break down and go buy it.

I definitely want an unlocked one this time around, though, so I'll be waiting a few weeks anyway. Maybe that will make it easier to wait, knowing I can't get the one I want just yet anyway. :D

Good for you man. Watching out for your family and such. I know it was hard but hey you can always pick up the phone in a few months! Patience is a virtue, it's just not fun.
