Self-powered speakers?

I realize this is probably the wrong forum, but it kind of falls into both Audio and Console Games. Anyway...

Are there any speakers that can directly connect to the Xbox 360 through the audio cables? I'm in my college apartment so I am tight on room and money. I plan to use my Dell 2005FPW as the display. Now I just need some cheap speakers to go with it. Do speakers like this even exist?

If you get some computer speakers and go to radio shack and buy an adapter cable that turns the RCA jacks into a female 1/8" input you'll be good to go.
