I've been having battery issues with my Galaxy tab s3, Wondering if I should just sell it and get an iPad pro 10.5? I have a feeling I would get about two to three more hours of battery life out of the iPad Pro 10.5. My problem is I paid $500 for the s3 and the keyboard case. I could probably get that money back through selling it, but then I would have to pay about $200 more for the iPad, and $100 more for the pencil. What do you guys think?

What do you use the tablet for, and are the apps you use available on the iPad?
Well I was using it for taking notes in school but my classes this semester require a real notebook. Otherwise games and browsing, some video watching as well.

If you don't need it for note taking, that only reduces the usage to games, browsing and videos. If you like the Samsung, other then battery life, why not wait?

I do think the iPad is a better tablet, and it offers a lot for you, but you need to decide whether its worth the hassle and effort to sell your current tablet. I will say one thing, you expect to get what you paid for the tablet in your original post. I found (and I include myself), people over-estimate what they can get when they sell technology. Be prepared to sell it for less then you expect and then pay for the iPad out of pocket.

This may not happen but at least you can prepare for the worst case scenario and also it will help you decide if you want to take the plunge.

I would keep the Samsung since your tablet usage boils down to basic activities that the iPad won't be a better solution.
Put your money on a laptop instead.

With that usage pattern, I'd recommend the 2017 iPad rather than the pro models.

I'd argue Android tablets are a complete joke at this point so yeah, I'd definitely do that.

But the Samsung has file manager and can download torrents, the key must have features for Pros.

iOS 11 will include a file manager as well, until then you can use apps like PDF Expert.

Torrents a pro feature, seriously?

I’ll have to say that the iPad has way better optimized tablet apps than Android does with its tablets. Usually Android apps are just blown up phone apps, whereas there’s very few apps that aren’t optimized for the iPad.

I haven’t really used Android on a tablet in a while though, so I’m not sure if it improved or not?

I really do like my tab s3, it's standby time is not the greatest, and the few games I play on it sometimes stutter a bit. I really like the s pen it comes with since I don't have to charge it, but seeing and playing with the iPad numerous times at best buy sometimes makes me want to sell this tab and get the iPad.

Unless you're running a rogue app, the standby time should be excellent. Nougat solved that problem on almost any android device. My tab S3 has excellent standby time and the battery percentage would be almost exactly the same when Im back on it after standby. For games, use Samsungs game mode and set it at the highest setting for best gaming experience. You should not be seeing any stutters at all on a device of this caliber. I also only use my tab s3 with autobrightness since it allows the best battery life to be given so I easily get 8 to 10 hours daily and even more while watching movies. Otherwise, you may have a faulty unit....

Matches my experience with the S2 - standby time is excellent.

My standby time was excellent until I installed DIGITS from T-Mobile. Ever since then android OS keeps the device awake even after 3 factory resets without reinstalling DIGITS. I am not sure what to do.
