I just sold my iPad1 32gb WiFi for $325 a few minutes ago to someone on CL.
I was asking $350 but settled after the 4th call as I was really worried that if it won't sell before the 7th it will drop like a rock in price.

Update: After several "I want it and can pick it up today!" e-mails from people on CL, all offers fell through. Should I try for $325 or just drop it to $300? It's a first generation 32GB iPad with 3G and 9 months of apple care left. Any thoughts?

Apple really sucker punched the sellers by lowering the price. That changed the whole ecology.
right now I would say a 32GB 1st gen with WIFI only would actually go for around $250. I would say having 3G is only going to get you $40 more. The people who want 3G are also willing to pay more for a 2nd gen instead of a Gen1 You should have sold it by now to get over $300 for it.
You snooze you loose.
I sold my Gen2 in Feb for what a new one sells for now

just sold a 16gb wifi 1 for $270 on CL. I'm pleased. Anything $250 or higher is more than fair, considering the 1 still kicks the crap out of the rest of the tablet world.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I know I'm behind the ball on getting top dollar. I'll drop the price to $300 on CL and see what happens.

Though it definitely hurt sellers of used ipads, Apple's action was neither unprecedented nor unexpected.

They did the almost exactly the same thing as last year, only difference being they retained the ipad2 16GB models at the new pricepoint vs. putting them on clearance.

Yea well that's why I sold mine in Feb although I wasn't expecting a lower price on anything except clearance and refurbs. Keeping the gen2's but at $100 less did change the whole ecology of the resale market.

I preordered on the 7th for a new iPad, 32GB, wifi only. Sold my same config iPad 2 the same day to a friend for $375. Gazelle would only give about $250 for a pristine unit. eBay "completed sale" results showed same unit going for around $400. My friend got a deal, and I got a no-hassle sale on the same day new iPad 2's from Apple had dropped in price.

Not bad...

Well I guess $300 was the magic number. I dropped the price to $300 and it sold within 20 min. I'm about to meet the person to complete the deal. Thanks for all the advice!

I have an arrangement to sell my iPad 2 wifi on Friday after work for $425. I think it's a fair price, though craigslist is a pain in the everlovin' ass. Too many "I'll give you $200" replies, to which I take time to reply. Because if you're going to waste my time with a low-ball offer, I'm going to waste yours with a smart-ass retort.

Oh man, I love it!.

If I had $10 for every CL "I am really interested in your XXXX. I need it for a birthday present, would you ship to XXXX?" (usually Africa), I'd be in the money...

Oh man, I love it!.

This is what I sent to the last guy, when he said, "I can get a new one for $399."

"You can get a new 16 GB model for $399., which you're more than welcome to do. Mine is a 32 GB model, which you can buy new for $499 if you'd like. Or you can get a refurbished 32 GB model from Apple for $449, which makes mine, at $425, still quite a deal. A deal which someone has already taken. That, coupled with my keen sense of reality, prevents me from accepting your low-balling, time-wasting, completely-detached-from-reality offer."

He replied, "If you're so concerned about time wasting, why did you even bother to reply?"

To which I replied, "Because if you're going to waste my time by responding with a lame offer, I feel entitled to waste a little of your time."

He didn't write back.

I guess the prices really are dropping.

I just bought 2 iPad 2's 64GB ATT versions for $500 each. They were both in the box with all accessories and not a scratch on them. One had a black leather Apple smartcover. I got them from Cragslist in NYC.

I have a first generation iPad. 32gb and 3G. No scratches. I put it on Craig's List for $300. I got $275 this morning. Sell now.

Sorry for another "I'm selling my iPad" thread, but a search didn't turn up any answers to my specific question. I plan on selling my 32GB first generation iPad with WiFi + 3G that has 9 months of Apple care remaining.

Just got £225 GBP ($352 USD) for mine, identical spec.
