I recently sold an iPhone 4s which was used as a business line. The employee that used the line had created and logged in with her iTunes & iCloud account.

I erased & reset all settings prior to selling the phone. The person that bough the phone called me up and said that he can't install things because its (I think) still logged in or associated with that employees account.

I though if I erased and reset everything that would clear out anything associated with the previous user.

I don't know how to get ahold of that old employee. So is there a way I can fully clear this phone of any thing associated with the previous user so that he can install things on his own from his account.

It probably has find my iPhone turned on. Simply resetting the phone will not work. Find my iPhone needs to be turned off under iCloud settings first. Since it's been reset, you will need that employees password to ever be able to use the phone again if that's what has happened.

I'm guessing this is the issue, rather than iTunes. Take a look here for more info from Apple.

Otherwise if it really is JUST iTunes, it's as simple as going to settings - iTunes and App Store - and tapping Sign Out on the email address. But it sounds more like iCloud activation lock.

I looked at IMEI number on that phone and Activation Lock is not active on it.

    So its something else

    Wonder what it is?
