I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered before but didn't feel like searching through all the forums.

So I'm buying the iPhone 3Gs and I want to sell my iPhone 2G.

I'm assuming that I shouldn't upgrade to 3.0 FW since it isn't jailbroken yet that I know of.

I plan on doing a wipe of my iPhone 2G once I get my new one, using the reset button on the phone under the setting. Do I need to do more than that?

Should I take my old SIM card out of it?

I heard people are going to backup their old iPhone and recover from backup on new iPhone. Is that really necessary?

BTW, my iPhone 2G is in great shape, nothing physically wrong and internally wrong.

Can the phone be used after I've activated my 3Gs, as a phone?

Thanks for any help people can give me as they wait for their phone to arrive Friday or waiting for their phone to download and install 3.0

I would love to know the answers to most of these as well. However the one thing I do know, is when you do sell it and you do ship, remove the SIM card before you ship it. Just send the phone; NO SIM CARD.

Everything else, I'm not aware of.

Once the proper tools to jailbreak your 1st Gen have been update you can use those to re-jailbreak your iPhone. Remember, 1st Gen iPhones are unlockable or jailbreakable at any point.

Yes if you wish to keep your previous settings.

Most certainly
