I will be selling my 3G on Ebay and was wondering if I am better off restoring it to IOS4.0 or if it will increase the sale price by Jalibreaking and unlocking prior to sale?

If anyone has tips on the proper way to do this to make sure all of my info is erased from the phone and SIM, I would greatly appreciate it.

Yes it increases it's value. I always put "T-mobile" in the eBay title. (If you're in the USA)

Take your SIM out
Restore the Phone to factory 4.0 settings in iTunes
Run the latest beta version of redsn0w to jailbreak
install ultrasn0w from cydia

Ok awesome. Thanks for the time. Do I put the sim card back in or sell it without one?

A 3G phone is so easy to jailbreak and unlock, even a caveman could do it.

Have you tried DevTeam Blog or iClarified for a tutorial (requires the use of Google)
