I am planning on selling my iPhone 4 after I get my 4S today.
I have been searching online and notice the prices a pretty high around $350 for a iPhone 4 32g.

What is the big appeal for purchasing iPhone 4 out of contract?

When I sign up for 2 year contract I have no problem because I know Ill have the phone for the length of the contract

I guess you wouldn't have to worry about being locked into a contract/carrier. You can switch carriers or get another phone whenever and dont have to worry about ETF's. That's my guess.

Many iPhone users are tied into their agreement with a non-iPhone or an older iPhone so they can't buy a full subsidized iPhone for 4-6+ months. This way they can buy an iPhone, go to their carrier's store and purchase a MicroSIM card and pop it in without a new contract and at a reasonable price for the iPhone 4...
