Here is the situation, I have a mini I am going to be selling. It came with iLife 06 and Tiger. I have purchased Leopard and iLife 08. What I want to do is put a fresh install of Leopard, then install iLife 08, but then return the computer to the initial boot sequence so the buyer can enter all their info in to register and create an account.

Ive search and search for a method to do this but cant find anything other than doing this off on external. I found something that said just to make an admin account, then delete that. But once that first account is made you cannot delete it.

Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible. The method I recommend using is this:

After you reinstall Leopard and iLife (assuming both can be installed at the same time), when the setup screen comes up, don't enter anything. Hold down the power button until the computer shuts off, instead. This will permit the new owner to set up the computer as they see fit.

Well thats the problem. I cant install both at the same time. The computer came with restore discs with Tiger/iLife 06. So those disc are basically useless.

I have a retail disc of Leopard and iLife08. I can install Leopard and then quit the registration process which works, but then iLife isnt installed.

Ill probably just make an Admin account and tell the future buyer to create a new account. Then just log off the admin account and into their own user account. I dont know what else to do. They wont get the nice welcome movie though. Oh well.

Why not just let the buyer install iLife '08 himself? It's a pretty painless install, even for someone who is not computer savvy. You have to include the original disk anyhow (assuming you are complying with the EULA) so just let the buyer know that they will have to install '08 after creating their account.

Well as it turns out it wasnt that big of a deal. I just installed Leopard, made a generic admin account, installed iLife, and was set to sell it that way. I made a text file to leave on the desktop for the buyer on how to create a new admin account and delete the old one.

I was set to list on Ebay but my neighbor out of nowhere say he wants it and bought the thing. So it didnt matter to him how it was set up because I can help him with whatever he needs.
