I am selling my iPhone 6+. I could simply trade it in for a measly $140 but figured if I post it locally I could get 75-100 more for it.

It is in excellent physical condition. The only blemishes are on the corners from trapped dust with the case. The front is perfect since I use a screen protector. I have the original box, headphones (never used), charging port with cable, documentation, and I am including 3 cases with it. I figured this may help sell it better than most.

Now the problem: The battery suffers as it is 3 years old. I believe I used an app that had the health at 55%. Should I advertise the apple will replace it for the $29? I could do it myself but if I could unload this phone without doing that it would be great.

Also, should I remove the sim card that I have in there (no longer in use, switched carriers) and I did a simple reset so security wise I should be good, correct?

Also, not sure if this is allowed to be discussed, but price. Think I could get between $225-250 with all the included items?

Another question: If I can't sell it locally, I may try swappa as it seems to be the way to go. Would you recommend that? (I will not deal with eBay I heard bad things about it).

Thanks for the help.

Just sold a 2 year old 6 plus 16 GB for $260 on Swappa. Was in perfect condition. No mention of the battery and no questions asked about the battery.

People buying a 3 year old phone know that the battery may need replacement. I have a 6+ and the battery still easily lasts all day long. The phone is slow, sure, but the battery "lasts". I wouldn't concern yourself with the battery details/condition - don't even mention it in the listing.

Let the buyer deal with the battery replacement.

If I were a buyer, I certainly wouldn't want the seller to replace the battery. I can walk in an Apple Store and do my own replacement. For $29, I'll know with certainty the battery hasn't been quick charged or abused.

Really? I have the 64 gb version. I made a swappa account 2 weeks ago but I put off selling it because of the busy holiday season.

I assume you use PayPal to do it?

Yes I use PayPal. Lots of good close up pictures. Original box and all accessories.

The cases etc are worthless and only cloud the item your selling.

I’m on the fence with the battery - if selling to an individual, if you can show Apple did the repair it adds value. Whilst it’s not holiday season, you wouldn’t want to buy your partner a phone that needed a new battery immediately.

I’d have said this additional value isn’t enough to cover the cost but now it’s $29 it probably does add at least $29....

Yes I would do the same I have already seen the 6s and the 6s+ starting to raise in value on graiglist

People now now know they can get a brand new battery in any phone 6 and up so any new buyer would want to get it done him self or well I would why buy a phone that has a 2/3 month old battery when I can buy s 6s+ for xx and wait my time until the battery's are in stock and get a new battery fitted when i need it

IF you do get the battery replaced by Apple, I guess there's no harm in mentioning that but I'd also emphasize two things: 1) Replacement was done by Apple, using an Apple battery (not a 3rd-party, unknown battery) and 2) point out that it was just replaced 4 days ago, 1 week ago, 2 weeks ago, etc.

Don't expect to get more money for doing this though.

I'm actually impressed with the prices with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s have increased since the throttling concern. If somebody was definitely selling one of those two devices, now would be the time, being the demand is higher.
