Hey everyone just a heads up I just came back from GameStop now and they are running a special through the weekend. Whatever the instore credit is, is what the cash payout is. I gave them my iPhone 5 16g and got $230.00 cash in hand. Just wanting to pass it along to ya'll out there.

I'm sure it's more than the 230 I got. Go to their website and click trade values and whatever the instore credit says is what the cash value is. GameStop.com
Wow, how did you get that in cash? the website says that is for trade in credit and $183 is the cash amount. That is why I opted for the $200 at AT&T.
Going there now. I hope they just give cash. Would be easier then getting credit and then just getting Amazon credit out of it.

Easily, AT&T offered me $300 just by walking in the store and them seeing I had a 5s.

I didn't see the offer on the site either but they have flyers in the store. I mean 230.00 for a 16gb iPhone 5 that had a pretty good scratch on the screen wasn't bad, considering it wasn't even a 5S. 230.00 to me was better than it collecting dust. Plus the lines at the stores here (att or apple) were still long.
I just did the same and got the same amount. The guy told me that it's because that GameStop location was in the same place as an Apple store (right across the hall in this particular mall). He said that if I'd gone to a GameStop where there was no nearby Apple Store, they could only give me the cash quote.
Bestbuy gave my phone a "poor" rating which offered a $150 gift card for a 64gb 5s. F that! Went to gamestop and got $284 in cash. Could have got $360 (can't remember exactly) on store credit.
Sure there was smallish dents on the sides and a little dust in the camera but $150 store credit?! Just glad I didn't have to go through CL with all my phones imperfections.

I called a couple Gamestop locations near me and they said they won't do store credit amount in cash.
I just sold my 64GB iPhone 5 at GameStop earlier this afternoon when I got my iPhone 6+. Had no clue this was a thing though and apparently, neither did the dude at GameStop. They offered $191.00 cash (which I took) or $239.00 store credit.

Ok so as the original poster I'll add from what ive learned from you guys giving input.
IF your GameStop is within close proximity of an Apple Store they offer that deal. I'm sure there are other places offer the same or better. I just wanted to share my experience this evening. I apologize if I mislead anyone just wanted to get that info out to you guys. #
Sold my iPhone 5 16GB White on CL for $300 a couple hours ago. Easiest transaction ever. Just depends on who the buyer is. Some will haggle you down to the bare minimum ("I'll give you $180 cash now") and others just can't wait to get one at all.
