I sold my immaculate space grey iPhone 6 (16GB VZW/Unlocked) on CL about three weeks ago and it worked out great for me. This was my first time selling anything in CL so of course I was a bit sketchy, but I took pictures with the phone along side the original box. In the description I put I will meet the buyer at whatever particular carrier store they are going to use on so that way we can make sure phone works with their particular carrier. I was not trying to rip anyone off, so that was my reasoning behind that as well as for both of ours safety. The seller emailed me and asked for IMEI number and I provided, I soon realized that he is a faculty member also at the college university where I work. So I instant messaged (Microsoft Lync) on the message service the university uses and we just meet outside my office, he gave me the money and popped his SIM card and the phone immediately started working. He later sent me a message saying that he was really pleased with the iPhone and thanking me again.

You have only sold on CL.

It is the BUYER who needs to verify the seller's identity, not the other way around. The buyer needs to see the DL of the seller and most CL sellers aren't going to want to do that. Only a fool would buy an iPhone off of CL.

Again, I see why you want to sell your iPhones through CL, but I think it is foolish for anyone to buy an iPhone off of CL.

It's apparently difficult for you to understand. You as the seller have no risk selling through CL for cash. It is the buyer who is at risk. Only a fool would buy an iPhone off of CL.

With ebay and swappa, you have not only an electronic record of the seller's info, you have 6 months of paypal protection.

Like I said, if someone is honest. Then great. And I'm fortunate my transactions have been successful. And I gladly show the buyer a form of identification, excluding my personal address. Others may not, which is why using discretion is key. If something does not seem right with the transaction, then it probably isn't.

No. I completely understand. No need to rehash what you said three different times. I Was simply explaining my process of how I execute the sale. And that's your anecdotal opinion what is considered a fool. Thousands and thousands of people purchase iPhones off craigslist every day. Some have issues and others do not. It's the risk you take. And eBay and Swappa have their downfalls to. In theory, there really is no safeguard for any transaction when selling a high-end electronic device online or in person. Case and point.

YOU are the one who is rehashing over and over again.

Oh please. Sounds like someone struck a nerve. Relax. If a stranger on an Internet forum Upset you, then it's best to leave the conversation. But I'm sure you will reply with some snark comment again. In the meantime, I'm going to attempt to have more meaningful discussions with other forum members. Thanks!
