A little off topic but I'm a first time seller on swappa and I'm trying to sell my sprint 128gn iPhone 6 plus for 750.

I have all original accessories and a case and glass screen protector. Phones in perfect condition too.

Only one person has said anything yet wanted it for 650 but I feel the 750 is really fair for the plus.

Any suggestions or tips. The price is pretty good right?

Yeah it's going to be a little tougher to sell that phone. I recently sold a T-Mobile iPhone 6+ 16 gb for $650 in about a day. I sold it on Craigslist so I didn't mind selling it for $650 because I don't have to worry about fees and shipping. Sprint iPhone is the least desired. Say if it had been a T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon bought from Apple it would have been unlocked and more highly desired. Best thing to do would be to negotiate with the one person interested or just wait for the amount you want. Just remember the longer you wait the harder it will be to sell

So you provided PayPal your social security number? That's your mistake right there. Otherwise you have nothing to worry about.

If it's an agency partner, they won't allow them to report to the credit bureaus.

Really, if they don't have your social security number, there's not much they can do except harass you.

I think I did. Not sure, it was a while ago, but I guess if it's with a third party agency now, they must have it.

Swappa can't control whether the guy actually ships the package or not. You will get your money back from paypal.

FWIW - I've purchased from swappa. As a buyer, I fell WAY more comfortable on swappa as opposed to eBay and Craigslist.

Yea i know buddy never has a problem with swappa the funny thing it's the guy that he say that shipped i open the claim on paypal and he has not respond yet

No problems on swappa never had a problem on ebay either. I take fully detailed pics with full disclosure on any blemishes. Being shady about it will lead to unhappy buyers.

I prefer swappa for higher priced devices because the net fees are lower.

750 for a sprint 6+ 128? nice price. Just wait it out.
Swappa / craigslist 101: set your price a bit higher than what your target is. That way you have wiggle room.

Sold my wife 32 GB 5S silver for $440 on swappa. I did ok.

Just listed my 6 on Swappa. I've always used CL but it's lowballers galore there. Hopefully I get a good experience with Swappa.

Yeah thanks for the tips. I just sold it last night for 750 on Swappa, first time too. I am usually exclusive with Craigslist but man so much spam on there nowadays.

I also just bought my a iphone 6 64gb on swappa this morning for a good price too, so I'm happy.

I'll have to try and sell my perfect condition iphone 5s 32gb gold on there soon.

I've only sold a couple of times on ebay, generally just buy on there. But the sellers fees are just too high on ebay.

Swappa advises the seller to follow the PayPal procedure for shipping the devices. Which specifically, anything worth over $250 must include delivery signature and insurance. So, you're covered in this. You'll get your money back from PayPal and if the seller truly sent and it was stolen/lost at least he should have bought insurance. If not, it is his loss, not yours.

Used swappa to sell a Note 3 and an LG G3.

Swappa tends to cater to more people in the XDA developers fold of things, so those are usually people who know what they're buying and what the phones do/software/etc.

That being said, it's pretty bad practice to sell a phone and NOT take pictures of everything. Take pictures of yourself packing the box. Pictures of it being shipped, whatever. Document everything. Definitely send it with signature confirmation and insurance, whatever.

eBay is convenient, but I've had non-payers (Which basically ties up your seller account with useless fees until eBay decides to rule the transaction in your favor), and that 10% fee is obnoxious, and it's also hit with paypal fees for the transaction so it gets to be quite a bit.

Yes on signature confirmation, but smart sellers do not buy insurance as the buyer has PayPal buyer protection and no incentive to cooperate. Filing a claim for insurance requires the buyer's cooperation so no go if they intend to deceive you.

I've had my share of non-payers. What I do is after 24 hours, I send them a message to let me know by the morning if they plan on paying or I will relist that night and send them a cancellation request. If I get no response by 12 noon, I initiate the cancellation request. I can then close the case after 7 days (or earlier if they approve the cancellation request) and I get a final value fee credit. From experience, buyers who don't write or pay within the first 24 hours usually never pay and most are happy to honor the cancellation request (usually due to buyer's remorse or change of mind). This is much faster and better than opening an unpaid item case, which can take a long time and doesn't allow you to relist the item as quickly.
