Wow. All these horror stories from Craigs List to Fleabay. I don't involve myself with that crap. I just donate my phone to a local women's shelter. Win-win situation.

For those who use Swappa...

I see that the admins have to approve your ad. Once it's approved, people buy and use PP? What is the method that y'all have used to ship the phone? How long would you say it takes for your ad to be approved on the site?

Usually takes less than 20 minutes for the listing to be approved. I usually use PayPal for the shipping label and send it insured USPS Priority.

I sold my 4s on a local Facebook swap shop. It worked out well for me. I probably didn't get as much as I could have if I sold it on swappa but since I live in a rural area it worked better for me. You could try that as well.

If the problem with Ebay is the 6mo Paypal protection then what makes Swappa trustworthy but Ebay dangerous?

Also, anyone have negative experiences with Amazon Marketplace? (thats actually where I've gotten my most profitable sales but the 30day return policy and waiting for the check is torture when you're planning on using the money to buy something else)

Craigslist is not that bad, at least in my area and I have made enough sales to able to figure out who is a real buyer and who is a fake.

Sorry if it has been answered before but does anyone know how long you have to send an item via music magpie. Want to secure the iPhone price for when I get my new one?

I personally use swappa and Craigslist. Just have some common sense when it comes to Craigslist though and meet at any public place, I prefer any carrier store or Apple when buying or even selling. That way both parties feel safe and not being afraid of getting scammed.

Craigslist or swappa.

I just ask them to meet me in my town's police station lobby. They encourage Craigslist deals to be carried out in the lobby, if someone refuses to meet at the police station, I don't mind loosing the sale. Simple.

I have sold many iPhones (as I upgrade).... What method do you all use to sell? I have always sold via Craigslist. CL can be a real pain, flaky people and scammers. I know eBay is good but lots of fees associated there. Any other places that have worked well for others?
I hear good things about Swappa.com but have never tried it. I typically use Craigslist and just price it a little low so it sells fast. I also have a counterfeit pen I use to make sure the cash I get is real. This year I might just use itsworthmore.com simply for convenience. They don't pay as good because they are a middle man, but it takes out all the risk.
I haven't fully decided yet. I definitely don't use eBay anymore though. The last time I used eBay was to sell my 30gb Video iPod many many years ago. It sold for $180 and after eBay and PayPal fees I got less than $100. I don't understand how anyone can afford to sell stuff on eBay.
