send photo to another phone?

I apologize if I am reposting a question that has been answered elsewhere, but I can't figure out how to send a photo from my iphone to someone else's phone. As far as I can tell, iphone only sends photos from e-mail. Is there a way around this so I can send a photo directly to another phone? (this is my first camera/data phone...so basically I know nothing)

You have to know the MMS email address of the person's carrier.

Like with Verizon you could go 555555555@vzwpix.com and it should work.
