Send screen shots to clipboard instead of camera roll?

Hi everyone,

Whenever I take a screen shot, it is almost never because I want to save it to my photos, but rather email or text it to someone. I can still do that, but then I have to go in and delete the screen shot out of the camera roll. Does anyone know of a hack that sends screen shots to the clipboard instead so I can just paste them where I want to?

Too bad I didn't see this a year ago! I'm interested in developing something like this. Unfortunately I have a very busy couple of weeks ahead of me, so if someone beats me to it that's ok.

I'll come back to this thread if I have any progress. Shouldn't be too terribly difficult (famous last words).

Thanks gburnham! I think it is so obvious that people taking screenshots are almost always doing it to send it to someone, not to have it linger in their camera roll only to be deleted later. Apple should switch this up.

It's the opposite for me, sometimes I need to 'cache' something I saw on the internet and I just take a screenshot.

I always send the actual file if I need to get it to someone.

Yes, I would like some sort of toggle.

While this isn't a perfect solution, SB2Cloud or other tweaks at least let you get a pastable link to the screenshot after very quickly uploading it to a cloud service. Basically you take the screenshot, the upload begins immediately, and soon after your clipboard will automatically have a paste link ready to the screenshot. Try it out, may hold you over for now.

How's the development going?
