Sending an event to someone not on mac

    Hey there I am creating an event and inviting someone who uses a windows computer and thunderbird with the thunderbird calendar, the invite sends fine but when she clicks on the attachment it asks what program to open it with i selected thunderbird but nothing happens then it doesn't get added to the calendar or anything is there a way to change this?

    Also when they send an event invite to me it come over perfectly, however is there any way so that a 15 minute notification set up in thunderbird will automatically show in ical?
