Sending an invite from Calendar app

Created an event in the calendar app but no option to invite attendees. Lots of threads and articles but haven't found any answers. I can receive invites through email and accept them, but no way to send one out.

depending on the view when creating the event you just might no see it:

so scrolling up might reveal the invitees-field:

Nope. Not there. It goes from 'Travel Time' to 'Alert'. Thanks for the help, though.
