Sending iTunes gift to someone in a different counrty

So this has become rather vexing for me. I'm trying to send my girlfriend 15$ to her iTunes, but I live in Canada and she lives in the US. I bought an iTunes gift card and just sent her the code, but unknown to me, you can only redeem codes in the country they were bought in. So then I thought I would just use iTunes's gift function, but once again, it only works inside the same country.

I'm stumped, but I'm determined to find a way to do this, so if anybody could lend some suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Nevermind, forgot that she can use Paypal with itunes in the US!
