Sending my iMac back to Apple, should i...

Sending it back due to black line down screen, should i restore it so its clean, or just delete all private stuff off and forget all passwords?

Also does anyone know how long it will be away for?

You probably don't have to wipe it, but you release Apple of all liability for data loss or breach. If you're paranoid, wipe it.
