So last night I asked Siri on my iPad to send a text to my girlfriend. Now she has a Moto G so it would be an SMS not an iMessage. I was only really messing about and didn't think that SMS weren't actually supported yet. However, My iPad actually tried to send the text but it kept failing.

Isn't this feature not supposed to be implemented yet? I thought only iMessage was supported right now? I'm guessing that's why it failed sending, I just thought it was interesting that through Siri I was able to actually get it to attempt it. It was also giving me the option to send my location through SMS, although it was going to use my iPhone location to do so. Interesting? or have I just not noticed this before?

Yeah I don't particularly want to do it right now, I just thought it was interesting that you could "trick" Siri into attempting it.

Seems like iOS8 is full of these strange holes
