The Sensibo Pure air purifier was today updated with HomeKit compatibility, making it one of the few air purifiers on the market able to integrate with HomeKit.

HomeKit allows you to control the Sensibo Pure through the Home app, and it enables Siri commands for checking air quality, turning the air purifier on and off, and more.

It also enables automations, so the Sensibo Pure can be used in tandem with other HomeKit accessories. Sensibo says that the air purifier can be paired with the HomeKit-compatible Sensibo Air AC controller and Ecobee thermostat to improve air circulation to boost purification.

The Sensibo Pure is advertised as featuring a triple-level filtration system with technology that monitors indoor and outdoor air quality to increase airflow through air conditioners and central systems.

The Sensibo Pure is priced at $159 for a single unit and it can be purchased from the Sensibo website or from Amazon.com.

I have two of the Smartmi P1 filters and I am in love with them. The app isn't functional at the moment but the company has been made aware of this. I was able to integrate them into Homekit before the app went belly up. The app has some additional functionality baked into it that doesn't port over to Homekit. But the filter itself DEFINITELY works. the price is comparable to this one.

Interesting, just yesterday I saw a brand of smart air purifiers called “Levoit” in Target and it looked interesting. I wonder how the two compare. Levoit only has Alexa support but the reviews are really good.

I too have Levoit and it would be nice to be able to add it to the Apple Family. It is quiet and I love the wifi. I can be most anywhere and can turn it on, off, check the air quality, set schedules with speed adjustment. Yeah it is worth it. I have the 131S. The little round units might have wifi, you have to look but the 131S definitely.

The Sensibo considering the small area it cleans , might be ideal around computers to cut down on the dust, as long as it is away from the computers a bit. It sucks in the dust so you wouldn't want it right in back or next to them.

I have two of them, one in the familyroom and the other in the living room. Now the living room is for the dog and kitchen. When my wife cooks sometimes she treats me like a Greek God, and gives me a burnt offering. The Levoit automatically kicks in and ups the fan speed until the air is tolerable. You can also amuse yourself by farting at it. Here is the website, I would buy it from Amazon as they might have cheaper prices, but you do want to seriously look into this one. Levoit

However, it doesn't work with Homekit but is WIFI though a free App.

Interesting, I have a Smartmi P1 for review (coming in the future to MR!) and I haven't been particularly impressed with it so far. Setup was a nightmare because of the app. The filter seems okay but it's been difficult to test, not a lot of allergens in my home, I suppose, and it doesn't do VOCs. It didn't do well on cooking/candle smells.

Homekit needs to catch up. From air purifiers to smart plugs: mostly Alexa and Google. Is Apple charging that much to licence Homekit?
I think it’s more likely the difficulty in getting signed up as a developer. The security is very tight as hard to find manufactures that comply.

Were you using the odour filter? You have to get the odour filter for the P1. That supposedly has an extra layer. The one that comes in the box with the P1 is only the pollen filter.

Do these things really work? What should I expect if I install one in my house?

Been using a BlueAir Pro M and L for 6 years now, astonishing products and superb performance. One of the leading manufacturers of air purifiers in my opinion.

Molekule with HomeKit has worked well for me. $$ though.
Don’t let Molekule’s slick advertising fools you, they have the worst performance error. WireCutter has found that most of their claims are misleading or false. It doesn’t really do much filtering at all.

Does anybody know of any portable AC units (preferably with heating support also) that integrate with HomeKit?

Dyson's should have worked with HomeKit.
I had gotten a blue Dyson during Amazon Prime Day last year. It worked great but now even after buying a new filter for it, it smells like wet paint and now gives me a headache whenever I use it. It’s vastly overpriced for what it is.

I’ve tried low cost Vremi filtration units and those smell weird after a few weeks of use, too. They smell so bad I thought a cat pooped outside of the litter box. Imagine my shock to find out it was the filtration unit in a room the cats aren’t even allowed.

So far I’ve only had good luck with Levoit ($119 no WiFi) and cheap Honeywells that were sold as a pair.

I also had an expensive Medify Air. Only one out of 4 units shipped to me was assembled properly. That one started malfunctioning after a year and a half. There’s a known sensor issue. And replacement filters are ridiculously expensive.

I’m sticking with Levoit. I have asthma and allergies to cats and dogs but insist on having cats and dogs, so these filters (and nonstop vacuuming and laundering) keep me comfortable.
