Hi All,

I have been trying to get a HomeKit automation setup for an air purifier in my bedroom. I currently have an Eve room that can detect air quality and an air purifier that is turned on and off with a wemo smart outlet.

Goal is between the hours of 8am to 9pm turn on the air purifier is air quality drops below “Excellent”. If air quality rises above “Good” turn the air purifier off. Also, turn off air purifier after 9pm

I have this setup as three automations in the Home app:
1. Turn off air purifier at 9pm
2. Turn off air purifier if air quality rises above good
3. Turn on air purifier if air quality drops below excellent only from 8am to 9pm

These are the only three automations that include either device but they still do not work. Am I missing something? I have three Apple TV’s and a HomePod listed as home hubs.

Unfortunately, you're probably not missing anything. I was looking for a sensor like the Eve Room to help with automations, and the Eve Room seemed perfect... but many of the reviews on Amazon indicate similar problems as what you're having: it just doesn't work for automations, for some reason. I think some people were able to get it to work, though, so it's still worth troubleshooting.

The Eve Room is the most likely issue, but I'd still try to single them out. Do automations involving starting and stopping the air purifier (say, based on time of day) work? If you have other HomeKit devices to make automations on, can you have other automations link and successfully trigger based on some sensor input from the Eve Room?

try watching from 6:00-7:00 in this video. The Eve app is what you must use for automations related to air quality from my understanding. Number 1 in your list can be done in Homekit natively however. I have an Eve room activate a smart plug for a humidifier when humidity gets too low. Couldn't get it to work using my own limited ability. Followed the below steps in that video and it works great now. The Eve app is very powerful but it can be a little hard to use sometimes
