Wow, this is pretty cool! If iPhone 12S (or 13) still has a charging port, and Touch ID is implementen under the screen, it will be a great opportunity to get the mini! It’s a pity that LTPO lower power consumption panels will still be exclusive to the Pro lineup.
Why keep the charging port?

Oooooh please don't make me upgrade twice in 1 year ... would LOVE to see the Mini get this!

stocks! @dwaltwhit Have you noticed Stocks was not updating some of your listings yestday? Love this app.
I would be shocked if the mini got this feature. And if it did, I am not sure that that tech bump in and of itself, would make me upgrade. I am not a photo junkie. It would be nice to have for the time you need it.

Yeah they needed to add this feature to ALL iPhone 12 models this year. Holding it back for only the Max was some Grade A nonsense.

Camera may be my least used function on my phone, beaten out by stocks. That said, I think that continuing to push the bounds of what a cell phone camera can do is important and, for a vast number of users, is a deal maker/breaker.
I'm like you; don't use the camera much, but man oh man, when I do, I want the best camera available. The camera got me to upgrade from 5 to 6+, then from 6+ to X, and now (maybe) from X to 12 or 13.
Yay! This will come in real handy for people. As someone with a shaky hand, and coming from XS Max, the 12 Pro Max has made me not even worry about taking low light photos with one hand. Hopefully more people get to enjoy this feature too!
I take pictures of the weirdest stuff. The serial number on the bottom of my lawn mower, the port layout behind my PC, what it looks like under my car or in my wheel well. Anyplace that I can't fit my head could very well be photographed, lol!
Will they fix the terrible lens glare? 🧐
This is indeed the most frequent reason that I need to retake a picture.

Agreed all the way. But it’s a solid nice to have should it ever come to the entire 13 lineup and especially when the 13 mini/12s Mini gets it.

IPhones that I’ve owned as a non-shutterbug and have been impressed by camera quality:
iPhone 4 and 4s (vs iPhone 3G/3GS these were junk).
iPhone 8 (much better night shots than all the previous models, significantly, Night focus still blurred but pics could be identified).

Next up 12 mini.

Camera is getting to a point where it's just good enough. If they can make an iPhone that can last a week on a single charge, communicate with mesh networking, supports tuneable radio, and can receive satellite signal everywhere you go, then it will be a game changer.

Joking? Try to make a low light photo/video with the ultra wide lens. The noise is terrible!

They should have held off on including it with the 12 Pro Max if this is case. I HATE when they add more features to the bigger Pro phone just because. They're both Pro phones and the only difference between them should be size and battery life. Watch them have another exclusive feature next year the 13 Pro Max...
