seperations from ill cs2 - where does it save!

Hi, either my illustrator cs2 isnt making seperated pdf's or its saving them somewhere i can never find, nor ask me for a file name, anyone any ideas? thanks

You should go to File>Save As... and choose PDF file. After you specify the file name, another dialogue box should open. In the top right you have to choose Acrobat 6 or 7 from the 'Compatibility' drop down box. Then you will have the option to save it as a layered pdf.

When you make separated PDFs the result is a multi page PDF. are you looking beyond the first page? Acrobat puts each color plate on a seaprate page the same way printing plates would be made. 😉
