just read this on billboard.com:

"I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update on Sept. 30," said Streisand."

so...that date: the official release of ios10? seems likely. (we should get all our apple info from ms. streisand)...

Her name is Barbra, not Barbara....... Just saying...... She was probably more interested in the all-too-common mispronunciation of her last name -- i.e., it is supposed to be "Strei-SAND" rather than "Strei-ZAND." Again: "Stry-Sand," people........ :)

As for the date of the update.....works for me!

Siri modifications and changes like this are backend and unrelated to iOS (or wOS/MacOS) updates.

Analogy: In Maps when a street gets renamed (probably happens 100's of times a day worldwide) you don't get a new version of iOS.

september 30th also happens to be on a friday... so nope.. iOS major releases have always been on a wednesday.

so what is tim cook telling her exactly? anyway, something is updated on the 30th (and if it's just a siri update, that's fine)

Cant you already change the pronunciation of a name by saying "thats not how you say my name" or "learn how to say my name"?
Ah, but if you're an entitled celebrity, doing things the way the common people do it is out of the question. No, you have to make a big deal out of it so you get as much free publicity as possible.

For Babs: mission accomplished. No one had been thinking of her for years and now she has her own MacRumors forum thread!

The info in multiple places states "in a software update coming Sept 30th". I am in agreement that Siri updates such as this are server side. Plus secret Tim isn't going to spew a date when a software update will be released. He probably said it would be fixed in a software update BY Sept 30th.

Wonder if we will get a new Beta 8 that fixes this major flaw?

Keep in mind that new ios always releases before the new iphone and that the new iphone would be released past that date, is highly unlikely.

ha! "september 15", just announced. so not even barbra streisand has it all right...

EDIT:eek:ops, typed too fast. yes, the 13th...
