Apple will send out media invitations with about 7 days notice to various members of the press, only when those invitations go out will we have any idea as to what day in September the iPods will be revved.

That is assuming they even will be revved in September. It could be October, fact remains that until Apple send out their fancy little invitations everybody is speculating on price.

October?

Well, I just don't see why a Pipper Jaffery rep would say September. He ADVISES people, if he is wrong, his job is gone.

He advises people based on speculation. Speculation isn't always right; in fact, it's usually wrong. They don't lose their jobs if they're wrong. That's why they throw out disclaimers in fine print stating that everything is a risk, things can change, etc.

You can believe him if you want. If he's wrong, you can call them up and ask for whoever came up with that idea to be fired.

Really?

That's interesting. So your saying that these people can make stuff up, goof up many times and still keep their job? I want that job!

P.S. Applecupcakes-No, I still do not have my answer.

...And you're not going to get one here, because none of us work for Apple and if we did, we likely wouldn't be able to tell you. All anyone can do is speculate, everyone has done that for you and you're still not happy... this is all very ridiculous.

No, they have to be 100% right. If they're wrong on one little thing that nobody really cares about and has nothing to do with investments, they face immediate execution by the federal government.

"No, they have to be 100% right. If not, they face immediate execution by the federal government."

The federal death penalty statute in only for Murder and Treason, not being wrong.

Why would it be in October?

There's no reason at the moment to say it won't be. September is historically when iPods are revved but there have been events in October in the past too. All we know for sure is that something will happen sometime before Christmas.

"Analysts" are purely "speculators" who get paid to talk crap based on stuff that's happened in the past. They usually have little more information than we do, some get interviews with Apple during the year where they are told "We don't comment on future products."

I don't believe them until it happens.
