On both installs, Safari 18.4 is not working. When I try to go anywhere on the Web, I get an error saying "A problem repeatedly occured with ....(URL)"

Firefox (latest download) is working fine.

Is that a known issue with a 3,1?

Also with any other Mac that does not have AVX/AVX2 support - Safari JIT now requires AVX support, did you try disabling it?

P.S.:

Disabling is setting it to false.

I did new "clean" installs on my 3,1 today. Have Sonoma running on one SSD and Sequoia running on another one.

no, I think latest Safari uses AVX2 or some instructions the macPROs don't have. Same with 5,1, supposedly. I am on 15.3.1, which has Safari 18.3 and it works fine. I believe you can dl it from Apple somewhere and downgrade.

I can run Safari 18.4 with no problem on my 4,1/5,1, using OCLP and Sequoia.

On my 3,1,running either Sonoma or Sequioa, 18.4 as configured out of the box, it fails. So I stick with Firefox.

It’s one of the few fails that I’ve found on my 3,1 while running Sequoia.
