serial number not identify magic keyboard

hi, i asked apple support by phone about the serial number of an magic keyboard model A1644 but they couldn't find/identified the related serial number as an apple product. what's wrong? some peeps on the net talk about same issue. thnx.

Some Apple accessories, including the keyboards and mice, have a different type of 'serial number' which is far longer and in a different format to the serial number you would find on a Mac or an iPhone, and isn't used for support purposes.

seems that it's true, they couldn't even identify my old magic keyboard witch was brought from am apple shop
