Series 1 (2016) are now $179 (38mm) and $209 (42mm) at Best Buy.

Obviously this thread is about sales at Target, but those are good sale prices at Best Buy, but Target will also price match those for anybody that does not have a Best Buy near them or they don’t have those models in stock at Best Buy and Target does.

Hah, I actually noticed at midnight on Sunday when the sales switched over for the week, but thanks for the bump all the same.

Actually the thread is just meant to be a "sale watch" (no pun intended) overall, doesn't matter if it's Target or Best Buy to me. Target had the best deal when I made the thread back in February, but now it's in Best Buy's hands. I get 5% off via Target's Red Card but Best Buy gives me 5% back in store credit on their card, so it's roughly the same either way for me.

Definitely diving in though. I was heavily leaning towards the Series 3 but I'm thinking I'm gonna go in on a Series 1 as a trial run. If I find that the watch is something I really use and rely on, I'll probably spring for a Series 4 when those drop and sell the Series 1 to make up some of the cost.

If I find that the Watch isn't my jam and something I can live without, I'm out less money in going with the Series 1 over the Series 3.

Wasn’t sure an AW would be for me so on a whim bought the Series 1 when it was on sale at Target in January. And at $179, decided no need to pay for AppleCare or other care plan. After using it 2 months, I don’t leave home without it - so functional. Who knows, maybe a Series 4 will come my way in a year or so.

Right, but the only reason I mentioned Target specifically in that last post was due to your thread title specifically stating “Target.”

I still think the Series one is a great entry watch, but given watchOS 5 is approaching, I’m not sure I would invest in that specific model. I know the Series 3 can be significantly more expensive depending on where you purchase it from, but depending on how long you plan on keeping your Apple Watch, that specifically is a factor for me to want to have a watch that would have the performance, increased battery and longer support.

Apple seems to have a handful of Series 3 models back in stock in their refurbished section if anyone wants to go for that.

It appears they are offering Space gray and Gold in Series 3. The only models they are offering as refurbished in Series one currently is Rose Gold in 38 MM, Rose Gold 42 MM and Gold 42 MM.

I paid 239 for a 38 S1 at Best Buy back in September. It is an OK device, its not exactly a speed demon in the UI dept. At the time the price difference between the S2 and S1 was too much for me given the specs. I am glad I went with the S1, I think I'll look at getting a S3 this fall sometime if WOS 5 makes it any slower. Playing with my wife's galaxy sport makes me jelly of Tizen tho.

Picked up the watch tonight finally. I’m gonna give it a two-week trial run and see how I like it, but I’m honestly not super impressed so far.

Hate it when the prices go up. I was watching an item all week and today the price jumped up like $70. :(

So unsurprisingly the 10% coupon I wanted to use on the Apple Watch in fact does not cover the Apple Watch. Sigh.

Not impressed huh?

Which color and which series?

42mm Series 1 in Space Gray. My Pebble Steel was silver so I was tempted to get that but I have a Space Gray Macbook Pro and iPhone SE so I figured I'd keep that trend going.

I'm hoping it motivates me to get more active, definitely. I dunno what I was expecting to be disappointed over though. I think I'm just allergic to making large purchases.

Macy’s is selling the Apple Watch Series 1 (2nd Gen) for $149.99!

Nice! 38mm though, so it isn't what I'm looking for. Tempted to get the silver/white for the wife though, even though she'd probably prefer rose gold.

You missed out on the 42mm on Macy's website. It sold out very quickly. Slickdeals got a hold of the deal, and it got out of control...quickly.

I have the 38MM silver/white, but I ordered a 38MM SG as well. I'm probably going to go with the SG when it arrives.

If you want some 3rd party bands, you can get some from here:

https://www.gadgetwraps.com/product-category/apple/apple-watch/

You can get 10 sports bands for $35 free shipping. They are great quality.

Thanks for the heads up, though unfortunately I'm not crazy about the sports band that was included with the watch so I'll probably be looking at a nylon band soon...hopefully it's a bit more breathable.

42mm is down to $179 at Walmart, a mere week after I sprang for the $209 price at Best Buy. Heading in with my receipt tomorrow morning to get the difference back.

I picked up one this morning at Best Buy(they matched Wal Marts price). Been wanting to get one but was hesitant about the price since I really am not a watch fan. This is a perfect price point to check it out.

At $179 I'm almost tempted to pick up a spare silver model to swap between and as a backup should my space gray bite the dust at some point.
