As someone with small wrists I'm really surprised how much perceived difference the minor 41mm to 42mm increase makes to me. I've switched between my 41mm and 42mm on my wrist a few times over the last couple of days and the 42mm really does feel oversized to me whereas the 41mm was just about acceptable.

I'm going to do some more tests - wear my 42mm solidly for a few days and see how I feel - because it is entirely possible after years of wearing essentially the same Apple 41mm case size my brain has become so attuned to seeing that 41mm case on my wrist that it is simply over-reacting to what it sees as an anomalous 42mm case size and after a few days it will start seeing the 42mm as the new normal so it will stop looking wrong to me.

I'm also thinking that now Apple has gone up to 42mm it is not likely to ever go smaller again so unless I want to stick on a Series 9 for years and/or decades to come, or ditch Apple Watch entirely (and my current thinking is that I don't want to do either of those things) so, while the thought of returning my S10 and sticking with my S9 has crossed my mind, I suspect I won't be doing that. All in all though I'm quite disappointed right now to be having to convince myself to keep my S10.

I don’t think I was aggressive at all. Somebody posted that I was wrong and this is redesign that everybody wanted so I merely asked them to back up their argument which they clearly couldn’t do. I would consider that a reasonable discussion.

Fallacy of the excluded middle. Most folks don't seem to care about the glass bezel, particularly given the reduced casing and overall larger display.

You keep citing a rendering that doesn't appear to be to scale. Here's my S9 and S10 side by side. Bezel schmezel. Much ado about nothing. Is the glass bigger and case bezel smaller? Probably. How much so? Don't care. They're essentially invisible if I don't go looking for them, even more so the 90% the time I'm using my usual watch faces with black background. This bezel stuff just doesn't matter to me. I'm looking at the display contents.

It's fine if you don't like the changes, but it's pretty clear most folks aren't bothered by the parts which did bother you, and that's okay. Just don't expect to convince others to agree with you, and arguing a matter of personal preference is pointless.

Maybe you are just very used to your 41mm so you overfeel any size increase ?
S10 42mm is my first watch and the size is just perfect for me as a man with small wrists (16cm).

But ye smaller option would be great especially to reach women with small wrists and kids. They just have to accept an oversized watch or go elsewhere that's absurd. My gf can't wear any modern AW due to the size.

Something like 40/43/46mm or even maybe 38/42/46mm should be pretty easy to mass produce while reaching almost everybody.

Yeah, while they do still offer the 40mm SE, that's at the S8 SIP level and without AOD.

Perhaps there will be a 3rd gen SE with updated specs and retain the 40mm case size?

My original comment was just that the series 10 redesign didn’t meet expectations. I think that’s a fair statement. When series 4 launched you got a slightly bigger watch with a better screen to body ratio. When series 7 launched you got a bigger watch with a better screen to body ratio and much thinner bezels. I don’t think the expectation after 3 years was just a bigger watch with the same screen to body ratio and larger glass bezels. If that was your expectation then fine, I guess I was wrong. Apparently that statement really upset some people.

I’m happy you love your series 10. I’m honestly a little envious about how much you love your series 10. I’m wearing one right now and I don’t hate it at all. I’m just willing to admit that it didn’t meet the expectations I had going into the keynote. To me, my series 7 looks a little better. I’m not trying to convince anyone to agree with that because it’s personal preference as you said.

The worst thing about series 10 there’s now no silver stainless steel, the titanium natural is to dark it looks more like slate, and screen is a bit wider but bezels are huge it looks horrible they ruined the watch, I’m sticking with series 9

I think “ruined” might be a touch dramatic, but can’t you get it in SS through Hermes?

the silver now is not silver its darker, the series 9 looks so much better, the design of the series 10 is steps back
