Hey Series 3 Owners!

Quick Question - Is your Digital Crown a bit stiff? Mine spins just fine (doesn’t feel like anything is in there creating friction) but compared to my wife’s Series 0 it feels still.

Hers spins pretty easily...but I also know ours is water proof. Can anyone that owns a Series 3 (and previously owned a Series 0) chime in to let me know?

Thanks!

Just found this on a search, my series 3 LTE definitely feels a little stiffer than the Series 2 it replaced. Anyone else? I would also like to know if this is normal.

It is common for watches to have a variety of stiffness with the crown. My 42mm S3 is stiffer than my 42mm S0, but looser than my GF's 38mm S3. Overtime, the Digital Crown will become looser. So if you are comparing to an older model its not going to be really accurate.

I was using the series 0 and just received the GPS-only series 3 on Friday. The crown on my series 3 is much looser than my series 0's.

I notice this from time to time. I am thinking it’s dried soap from hand washing. Rinsing and turning the crown seems to clear it up.

Yep another one here

My Series 3 is definitely more stiffer to turn than my S2, not that I mind as long as it does the job and doesn’t pop off!

Mine is also more stiff, I thought I had a faulty unit. I guess this is common on the series 3 LTE.

I’m wondering if my Digital Crown is a little loose. When I press it I can’t tell if it’s turning/spinning or if it’s loose. ☹️

I went to the Apple Store earlier to purchase AppleCare for it, messed around with a couple. Seemed a little stiffer like mine on the SS models, and looser on the aluminum. Going by the feedback in this thread, it sounds like it could be normal.

As others have stated, as someone who owns multiple Apple Watches, there is no consistency with the digital crown in the way it turns. Some are more stiff than others and some appear more loose. That's just the way they're manufactured. It doesn't mean that's a defect, I would just enjoy it for what it is.
