Glanced down at dinner to find my watch in a very sad state. A reboot doesn’t fix this - the display is now just stuck with this bizarre line in the screen.

Time to waste some time visiting Apple to have it sent off for repair :(

Really bummed I’m going to not have a chance to earn the December award now. Oh well.

If you have AppleCare, you may be able to arrange an advance replacement where they'll send you a replacement watch and you send yours back when you receive it. The caveat is that you must guarantee payment for the replacement on a credit card in case you don't return your old (broken) one. They put a hold for the amount required on the card and remove the hold when they receive yours back.

I know you Mentioned a reboot, which I'm assuming you tried holding down the digital crown and power button for 10 seconds. If that did not restart the device, then it will need to be rectified by Apple. But in all likelihood, at least you will receive a replacement device due to the issue.

Yea a reboot does nothing - the Apple logo doesn’t even show up for that :(

Then it's a hardware related failure. The watch will just need to be replaced likely in general versus repaired.
Yea hoping I don’t have to wait the 3 to 5 days for a replacement and in store they can do a swap - will find out tonight!
