Series 3 edition

i think the answer will depend on if / what Series 4 Editions there might be.

One scenario could be to introduce the bigger AW4 at a higher price point, and keep the AW3 at the same price point. They do this with phones...who knows what stock price dances in Tim Cooks head?

I am not sure that they will convoluted their Watch line up that much, but then again they sell a whole buffet lineup of iPhones so who knows.
 
and there are the rumors that the current Ceramic models will be discontinued entirely.

that would be a pity.
both the white and the grey models are so nice, and sleek that its difficult to choose between them which is nicer.

I never understood why a black ceramic was never offered

That would make me regret not owning one. going ceramic last year simply wasn't affordable easily and I would have liked to enjoy the very unique material for a while. I don't think I can afford it this year either having just bought a new MBP but I really want one.

Probably because the space black would compete with the black stainless Apple Watch. The black stainless has the DLC coating, which is very durable against scuffs and scratches, where as the ceramic black watch is also very durable and Similar against damage, where the consumer would likely opt for the cheaper option of the space black stainless.

Not to mention, the space gray ceramic kind of gives the ceramic Edition more exclusivity with that color.

Love my ceramic white s3 and will be skipping s4. If you can get a good deal on one I highly recommend. Has held up flawlessly (can't say the same for wife's SS s2)
 
Apple Canada dropped the price by just $90 CAD for any leftover in-store stock (making the 42mm $1,669 CAD + tax = $1,885.97 CAD). However, I managed to find a brand new sealed 42mm white one on eBay for just $759US! The serial number hasn't even been registered yet so the warranty will start once I set it up!
